Friday 8th May 2026 – Bowood House and Gardens: Bowood House has been home to the Lansdowne family since 1754. Highlights of the house include Queen Victoria’s wedding chair, Napoleon’s death mask, the laboratory in which Dr.Joseph Priestley identified oxygen gas, as well as a collection of art and historical treasures, and a special exhibition of Secrets, Spies and the American Revolution. The gardens comprise 2,000 acres of parkland designed by Capability Brown, a 30 acre woodland garden with bluebells, azaleas and rhododendrons, an Italianate terrace garden and a walled garden.
Light lunches and snacks are available for purchase in the Treehouse Cafe although visitors are welcome to bring their own picnics to enjoy in the grounds.
Price: £35/person (based on 30 people).
Timing: The coach will leave for Bowood from Gorse Hill Community Centre at 09.30 am on 8th May.
