Swindon Growers – monthly summary of local activities for gardeners

☀️

The downloadable file below shows the line up for both November and December. Although a quieter time of year in the garden, there are still some quality talks for the next few months at the various clubs, plus growers drinks in the Beehive at the end of December. (Sorry to have missed the Wootton Bassett talk which was on the 3rd!).

Looking ahead to next year, some fantastic talks are lined up already, alongside the annual plant sales, Growers Summit, a variety of workshops, and numerous volunteering opportunities.

Volunteering extends far beyond gardening, many garden clubs actively seek new committee members. SALGA is looking for volunteers to assist in their shop at Pickards Field which is a lovely way of meeting fellow growers! Many community groups would welcome social media help, coordinators or event planners.

The Growers drinks (every other month) is also a lovely relaxed opportunity to discuss the dirt of the latest gardening season or a chance to share any top tricks. If you’d like to come along but would rather not turn up on your own, you can get in touch beforehand. For this final get together on the 28th December, and back by popular demand (!!) we are doing a simple game, all you need to bring is a small garden related wrapped gift. If games aren’t your thing, there’s always the opportunity to clean and sharpen your secateurs, or swap some seeds.
